"S.A.L. T."
SOCIAL ACTION LEADERSHIP TEAM

The mission of S.A.L.T. is to bring awareness of various civic issues, social services, resources, health, education, and employment opportunities to the Union Baptist Church family.

S.A.L.T. was very active with the Mercer Council on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction. We now have several members of Union Baptist who have completed the training offered through their Congregational Assistance Program.

Historically, African American health concerns have been the primary focus of our Ministry. We provided health screenings and educational workshops. We will continue to work closely with the Health Education Staff of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital to provide additional workshops and screenings from time to time.

Our ministry focus at this time has turned to civic issues and our rights and obligations to be active participants in the educating of God's people on the issues that impact so heavily upon the spiritual, physical and mental health of this city, this state and this nation. Voter registration and education will be our focus for these times.
Many lives have been sacrificed for us to speak. As always, we seek God's wisdom and guidance in this endeavor. Let us not be cast out and trodden under the foot of man. Now is the time. We are the people.

"Ye are the SALT of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and to be trodden under the foot of men"

                                 SECURITY MINISTRY

Our mission is to help ensure safety in God's House for the Union Baptist Church family and facilities as we worship and offer tithes.

We must be mindful that the devil is busy on the inside of the church as well as on the outside of the church. As a result of this unfortunate reality, we must be prepared for him at all times.

The Union Baptist Church Security Ministry members have over 60 years of Law Enforcement experience combined. We are dedicated members of Union Baptist Church. Our ministry maintains a stringent code of ethics and honor system.

The Security Ministry is a great way to serve the Lord, fellowship, and provide security to our congregation while worshiping.

If you are 18 years of age or order and are interested in becoming an active participant in contributing to the well-being and safety of our church, please consider the Union Baptist Church Security Ministry.

Law enforcement experience is a plus but not required for the ministry.
