MISSIONARY SOCIETY MINISTRY
The Missionary Society Ministry is one of the oldest groups in Union Baptist
Church. We are dedicated to the mission of spreading the good news of Jesus
Christ.
We regularly visit sick and shut-in Church members at their home as well as at
local hospitals and nursing homes. We provide cards
and small gifts to let our members know that they are always in our thoughts and
prayers.
Our monthly meeting consists of Bible study and discussion guided by "The
Worker," a publication of the Progressive National Baptist Convention.
Thanksgiving baskets are also provided to needy families, and each year, we
proudly sponsor a young member of our congregation to attend the UBC Youth
Retreat. The ministry also sponsors trips to plays. When called upon by the
Church, we willingly serve all of its programs.

NEW MEMBER MINISTRY
Being a new member of a church may not be easy, especially if you are a new
believer. But it can and should be a rewarding experience!
The purpose of the New Member class is to introduce new members to life and
ministries of the Union Baptist church. It is also to encourage new members to
use their God given talents and abilities while being a member at Union Baptist
Church for kingdom building. The New Members classes seek to provide biblical
teaching for spiritual growth in the lives of the individuals by addressing
expectations for ones life, their commitment to Christ and to provide biblical
principle that will lead to life changing and spiritual enrichment. The classes
also help new members to embrace the vision of the Pastor.
New members class is held every 2nd 3rd and 4th Sunday of the month and should
be attended by all new member regardless of age.
